Imagine a 1000 new words at your disposal, whenever you need.

Go far beyond the textbooks and workbooks and make the kinds of words your own that Germans really use, in a variety of settings. Some might be long, some short, some you might see in a German course, but many you won't.

No matter if you're a beginner or an advanced learner of German, in this fast-paced, interactive online training, you'll learn loads of brand-new words visually and by repetition so that you can remember them - and use them for any real-life occasion.

It's so simple (and that's why it works):

Like all of Deutschable's courses, this one is simple and straightforward: there are no complicated menus, no admin, no distractions and no decisions. You start with the first lesson. Move on to the next lesson when you're done. Repeat. The terms you learned in previous lessons are recylcled throughout the course. No need to backtrack. Go with the flow and feel yourself absorbing the new language skills.

Each lesson has three parts (representing the ultra-effective APU method: Absorb, Practice, Use.)

Part 1: Watch a short explainer video

No video is longer than five minutes - that's a fundamental fact of this site. The idea is to make the hurdle to start and continue learning extremely low: You can squeeze 5 minutes in almost anywhere, and this will keep you on track with your learning progress.

In these short, content-packed videos each word is explained in clear English, with the meaning(s), pronunciation, gender, and an example sentence. We'll also mention if there's something unusual or important to know about the word (such as alternate meanings, or whether it might be colloquial.

You have complete control: Slow down, rewind, pause, restart. You set the pace of your learning.

Part 2: Take the smart practice quiz

After the video, it's time to practice with a quiz that prompts you for the right words in a variety of ways and gives you immediate feedback. Words from previous lessons are recycled here as well and might come up at any time.

This type of repetition keeps the concepts fresh and helps you remember them when you need them.

Part 3: Move on or interact with the community

After completing the quiz you've finished the lessons and can now use your new language skills to understand movies and contribute to conversations on a wider range of topics.

If you like, you can move on to the next lesson, or repeat this one again (you can do this as often as you want).  If you have any questions or comments, each lesson features a comment section where other students and the teacher can discuss any aspect of what was just learned, just like in a classroom.

Meet the teacher.

Stephan's been teaching German and English since the early 2000s - in Germany, the US, and in Eastern Europe. Online, offline, business-focused, conversation-centered, for groups, individuals, CEOs, jobseekers, kids, students, employees, in startups and in bunkers. He's spent thousands of hours actively teaching languages, and at least as much time training other teachers how to do the same.

Deutschable is his way of condensing his experience into the world's most efficient and informative self-paced German trainings specifically for English speakers like you.

Stephan's focus is to save you time, nerves, and money as you quickly progress in German. He's looking forward to seeing you "in class".

These lessons are absolutely amazing!

Fantastic teacher. This is much more manageable than the online zoom classes, with work and parenthood having fluctuating time requirements this kind of lesson is perfect. My family and I are enjoying your class, and already are recommending it to folks we know moving to Germany.

Stephan is one of the best language instructors I have come across!

With an intuitive knowledge of individual students' struggles with German and a capacity to explain the structure of the language, in context, that exceeded my expectations ...watching Stephan go through strategies to explain sometimes complicated language structures helped me immensely as an instructor, to say nothing of my growth as a student.

These explanations I finally understand!

I'd like to say that I have spent so much money on books, courses, time etc. and these / your explanations I finally understand!!! I think I'll finally be able to pass B1!!! I knew in my integration/immersion class I missed so much of the basics because it wasn't explained in English. I can not thank you enough!!!

Why today matters.

I'll keep this brief, and I'll use this brevity to start with a cliche: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. If you've made it this far on this page without signing up you're probably a lot like me, who also finds himself at the bottom of pages, unsure about whether to sign up to yet another random thing on line, or try to remember what I was doing before I landed here.

But I think you won't regret signing up to this free course and checking it out - if it's not for you, no harm done. But it just might do what I designed it to: Open your mind to vast amounts of new words that will never be presented together in this way again.

Don't miss out on one more conversation topic, or crucial movie scene. Take a chance, this might be a game-changer.
